  • rhetoric is a Greek tradition of preparing speeches.
  • Greek elders who were the experts in rhetoric taught it to the younger Greek boys.
  • Not everyone was allowed to use this, only those of upper class.
  • Sophists area group of Greeks that believed anyone can learn rhetoric as long as they paid them.
  • They were believed to be ruining the ancient rt of Rhetoric.
  • Rhetoric – using the available means of persuasion to make an argument.
  • we use these strategies to form our writing.
  • Logos, pathos, ethos, audience are all tools used t make arguments more effective.
